The design for this museum evolved from the idea of preservation and innovation. This allows the collection of existing warehouses, and their inherent aesthetic values to be preserved while introducing combining elements which unify the museum space as a continuing and easy accessible place. Located within a historic fruit, vegetable and dairy warehouse district now becoming an emerging contemporary arts district south of the thriving redeveloped downtown Omaha. 

Jury Comments: The jury applauds the appropriate simplicity of the renovation. Every new element is in harmony with the overall minimalist, industrial aesthetic.
