The convention theme, Connection | Conversation | Creation, focused on creativity and innovation – reinvigorating the profession of architecture following the economic times behind us.

AIA Nebraska presented 5 Honor Awards and 5 Merits at this year's Excellence in Design Awards Gala, October 14, at The Institute for the Culinary Arts at Metropolitan Community College, Omaha, Nebraska. The highlighted winning projects were selected from 67 entries from Nebraska architects by the following Louisiana jury members: Jury Chair, Victor F. "Trey" Trahan, III, FAIA, Trahan Architects; Steve Dumez, FAIA, Eskew+Dumez+Ripple, and Ursula Emery McClure, FAAR, AIA, LEED AP, emerymcclure architecture.

The Excellence in Design competition is an annual event for Nebraska architects who submit built and unbuilt projects for consideration.
