After attending a Landmark Commission meeting where the landmark status of Omaha’s Clarinda-Page Apartments was challenged, a design concept was developed to save the 100-year-old building. Intended to spark community conversation and counter the “lost-cause” argument, the design enhances the Midtown Omaha neighborhood boasting historic architecture, walkability, and mixed-use development. Modern and historic architecture complement each other while important parking, square footage and accessibility requirements carefully incorporated. A vibrant streetscape injects new life into the old building.
