The nature of Flywheel can be described as nomadic and young. Utilizing qualities of industrial design partnered with pops of color allowed the space to develop an overall look that speaks to the nature of the company. When first entering the space, one is greeted with a large stair case. The stair can be used for circulation to the other levels or also doubles as a space to work. Having this at the entry, it provides the company with an interstitial zone between the work spaces and the exterior. Once in the space, the three story building is broken down into different working areas ranging from open group work to private offices. This allows for the company to have highly functional and flexible work spaces that can adapt as Flywheel continues to grow.

Jury Notes: Branded program elements inserted within an untouched shell makes for a memorable work environment. The designers effectively created a rich variety of spaces using inventive and modest means. The multi-use circulation stair becomes a lively part of the user experience.
